This Is The Trip We Did As Kids

by Ali Novitsky, MD

Hi friend,

I want to tell you where I've been.

Vacation is where my creativity comes alive. I know that about myself now in a way I didn't used to. When I slow down and step out of the day-to-day, the ideas come back. The purpose comes back. I remember who I am.

This trip to Bermuda was a special one. It's the same trip my family did when we were kids, and being back brought me right to the center of myself. My purpose. The impact I want to have. I came home grateful and also thirsty to keep serving in the best way I know how, which is creating new things that help other people meet who they are at the deepest level.

A few moments I'm holding onto:

Sarah, my sister in law who is my sister, my fraternal twin, one of the best humans I know.

My brother, working hard as a full time ICU doc and quietly putting his own health back together in the middle of it.

My mom, always a learner and always a supporter, starting the strength training routine I taught her right there on the cruise.

My dad, the ever optimist, living in the moment, still the kid at heart he has always been.

Betsy, moving through a whole new wave of confidence.

Charlotte, being completely herself and making friends by default, the way she does.

And Mark, the steady ground the rest of us lean on without even asking.

Feeling the love all week. Missing the pups something fierce. And yes, I avoided coming home with a fourth puppy... but only by a hair.

Sending you so much love. I hope this is a week where you get to discover what lights you up.

And if nothing comes to mind right away, nothing has gone wrong. Just listen a little longer.

xoxo, Ali
