The Practice

Your family isn't failing. It's running on a pattern. When the most regulated person in the house stops being the only one holding it, the whole system shifts.

The Framework

ARCCAwareness. Regulation. Communication. Connection.

Every family runs on one of four stress patterns. The pattern lives in the nervous system, not the behavior — which is why most parenting strategies work for some families and fail for others. ARCC is the sequence that works for all four, because awareness comes before regulation, regulation before communication, and communication before connection.

A

Awareness

For families with chronic low-grade sympathetic activation and blunted interoception.

You can't shift what you can't see. Days blur. Routines run on autopilot. Step one rebuilds the signal — naming the stress your body has stopped flagging.

R

Regulation

For families with sympathetic dominance — the amygdala firing before the prefrontal cortex can catch up.

Rebuild the off-ramp, not the willpower. Lengthen the gap between trigger and reaction — so the wiring underneath actually changes.

C

Communication

For families in dorsal vagal shutdown — the freeze response, calm on the surface, pressure underneath.

Hard things only get said when the body believes it's safe to say them. Step three restores enough nervous-system safety for true conversation.

C

Connection

For families with ventral vagal underactivation — the social engagement system offline.

Connection is a wiring state, not a scheduling problem. Step four brings the system back online so being-together replaces just-being-near.

Most programs work on the symptom. ARCC™ works on the wiring — and teaches all four pillars in sequence, because the order is the medicine.

The Principle
The most regulated person in the room holds the burden. The most dysregulated person in the room controls the energy.

In most families, she is the regulated one. ARCC™ exists to teach everyone — kids, partner, mom — to hold the container together, so the burden stops landing only on her.

The Reason This Exists

This work started in my own home.

I'm a triple board certified physician — pediatrics, neonatology, obesity medicine. My husband Mark is a board certified child psychiatrist. Two clinicians trained specifically in child mental health, and our home still hit a season where the stress took over.

I said it first, quietly: "I think I might be depressed." Mark answered just as quietly: "Me too."

That moment changed everything. We realized our family wasn't failing — we were stuck in chronic stress patterns we didn't fully understand. If two physicians trained in child mental health couldn't see it in their own home, how many families out there were silently struggling and didn't even have the vocabulary to name it?

That question became the families work. ARCC™. Family Reset. The Fit Kid Program. Every piece exists because we couldn't find it when we needed it.
Questions

Before you choose.

Most families start with the Family Stress Type Quiz to identify their pattern, then enroll in the next Family Reset cohort for the deep 4-week intervention. After Reset, families typically continue with the Fit Kid Program to keep building the work into everyday life for the kids. They're designed to layer — Reset for the system-level change, Fit Kid Program for the year-long practice.
It's mom-led, which means mom is the buyer and the entry point — but the work is for everyone in the household. Family Reset includes unlimited household members and teaches the family system how to regulate together. The Fit Kid Program is designed for the kids directly, with companion family discussion guides for the parent. The point is to redistribute the regulation load so it doesn't all live with mom.
No. This is a physician-led educational and implementation-based framework — not therapy or clinical treatment. ARCC™ is built on the same neuroscience your therapist would draw from (sympathetic activation, vagal tone, the polyvagal model), but the format is education and coaching.
Most partners come along once they see the shift. The work is mom-led for a reason — you set the tone, and a regulated nervous system in the household tends to pull others into regulation. Many families report the partner becoming an enthusiastic participant by week 2 or 3, without any direct invitation.
Yes. The Fit Kid Program works for ages 6-16 (with adaptations across that range), and Family Reset works regardless of children's ages because it's teaching the parents the framework to apply to the household. The strategies are nervous-system level, which means they're developmentally adaptable.
These programs are not crisis care. If your family is in acute crisis — domestic violence, active suicidality, severe mental illness — please work with a licensed mental health professional first. ARCC™ work is most effective when the system is stressed but functioning. Once you're stabilized, this is where you build the wiring to keep that stability.

You set the tone. We give you the method.

Two physician-built programs. One framework. A regulated home that doesn't run only on you.
